The association whose statutes where deposited at the prefecture of Grasse the 29th of September 2003 under the number 0061020335 has for object :

The preservation of the exceptional area of the Island Saint Honorat, in particular its natural and forest area and its historical and religious heritage.

Formed of benefactor members, linked to the monastic community, landowner of the Island Saint Honorat, defenders of the beauty and natural balance of the site and its historic and spiritual heritage, joined as well by over 22.000 petitioner members to this day, the association is bringing public information into play in order to preserve the natural area of the island, particularly in the summer and is carrying out studies and actions for the protection of the site, and finally it also supports all the initiatives for the respect of a balanced, controlled and clean tourism on the Island Saint Honorat. The last point is also truly requested by the visitors of the Island.

The association takes note of the various threats and eventual effects on the natural environment of the Island (facts during summer 2003 : offshore degas, fires in Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur, savage and brutal landing of tourists on Saint Honoral, etc…) and reserves the right to take appropriate action to obtain the respect of the Island Saint Honorat’s rights, property of the monastic community present there.

The association’s committee is formed of :

Mr François-Xavier Lucas, President

Mr Jean-Paul Ortelli, Vice-President

Miss Thérèse Gicalone, Treasurer

Mr Edouard Lagourgue, General Secretary
